Has anyone been there for carp since they killed off sprague and cow? This used to be one of my favorite honey holes for carp shooting? Just curiouse if there are any carp left.

Just curious if anybody else got in on the good deal they had. They had the Stevens model 200 which is made by Savage marked down to 200 dollars in any caliber. I made it down to the Spokane store and picked up a 270 and a 243. I was down there today and they were sold out.

Thought I would add to the ranks of what looks like a good site for local hunters.
I live a little south of Spokane, have been in the area for 5 years or so and enjoy the outdoors. My preferences change with the seasons, I like to fish in the spring through fall, most anything will do, trout, bass, pike, walleye etc. when winter hits I like to hunt birds and dogs ( not very succesfully Ill admit). I sprinkle in alot of shooting/varmint and reloading with it all.
anyways thats my story, glad to be here and all.

23" 5lb. Rainbow. Way to go Mari, nice catch!

Hey just found this forum, and it seems like a good place for me to ask this question.

Im a senior in high school and thinking about going to school in Spokane next year (Gonzaga).

How is the overall hunting (deer/elk/duck) around Spokane? Are there a lot of good options (public/private) when it comes to places to hunt? I live in Snohomish right now, and dont really have much info on the Spokane area.

Any information would be great.. this looks like a pretty cool site.

I'm relatively new to the area and want to do some shooting, where should I head to? I don't have a dog, so I need to avoid the lakes, but is there anywhere to jump shoot or drive ditch banks around here?

A little help please......

Got out for the first time this afternoon. Being the rookie that I am, I went out fully expecting not to see anything, let alone get a shot.
Got to a spot that I thought looked good and would hopefully produce something. Sat down, had the boys sit down and be as quiet and still as an 11 yr old and 9 yr old can be.
I called for maybe 15 minutes off and on. About 400 yrds out I'm certain I see a yote so I pull up the binos and sure enough there he is. Sitting down looking directly at me. About 50 - 75 yrds back there is two more but can only see from the chest up.
We sat and waited for a couple minutes but they didn't move. I tried calling a little bit more and a little quieter. Of course my adrenaline is really going right now for the simple fact that I've never really tried calling before and fifteen minutes into it I have three sitting in front of me. No idea where they came from. They just sort of appeared.
So anyway, rather than taking a chance of them spooking and not getting a shot at all, I decide to shoot. Too low. Miss number one.
I took the boys up to where I shot just to make sure that it was a clean miss. Sure enough. Nothing.
So we walk about another 75 yrds and theres another one about 350-400 yrds looking right at us. I new at this point there was no point in calling so I decide to take a shot. Miss number two......
For being my first time calling, I have no regrets. I must have done something right. The boys were with me and I think that they may have had more fun than I did. Sure, it would have been nice to kill a couple, but man what a rush.
Any who, my question to all you experts on here. 400 yrds out and its just sitting there. How do you or can you entice it to come a little further? Until I get a new scope and a bi pod, those shots are out of the question for me.
